WebThe palace at Knossos was the largest of the Minoan palaces and served as the home of the legendary king Minos. This palace complex was named and excavated in 1900 by the Englishman Arthur Evans. The complex, whose floorplan resembles that of a maze, recalls the mythological story of the Minotaur which was housed in a large labyrinth.
